5 things that will be better for me after the lockdown

Among all the understandably negative feelings we’re presently surrounded by, I thought I’d see what I could find to be optimistic about. And I realised that some things will be better for me after this ‘lockdown’ period than they were before. Here’s what I came up with:
1. I will have eaten well – I have more time to plan and cook my food, even if I have to get imaginative a little with what’s left in the fridge to avoid having to shop before I need to.
2. I will have caught up with general tasks – when life is running at its usual pace, it can all get a little overwhelming and some things just don’t get done until they become urgent. I think you know what I mean. The admin, the accounts, the weeding…. heck I’ve even got to the bottom of my ironing basket. Unprecedented times indeed.
3. My house will be cleaner and tidier – I’m clearing out (although the black bags are piling up with the refuse sites being closed). I’m getting around to the mundane once-a-year (if they’re lucky) jobs like cleaning skirting boards and repotting plants.
4. I will have worked through my reading pile and learnt lots.
5. Lastly, but I think most importantly, I will value things I didn’t appreciate so much before. I hope this one stays with me (but I’m happy to let the ironing slide again).
